  2. 2

A plan that covers the whole picture

Depending on your needs, that may include screenings or lab work, medication, lifestyle changes or a referral.

  3. 3

    Follow-up visits

We check how things are going, review results and adjust medicines, in person in Chesapeake or by telehealth when appropriate.

  4. 4

    Between visits

Use the secure patient portal to message the care team and track your progress.

Common questions

Can I see the same provider for a checkup and for my mental health?

Yes. Angel Williams-Kent is trained as both a family nurse practitioner and a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, so one provider can handle your wellness visits, ongoing conditions and mental health care. You do not have to retell your story to a new office each time.

Why does it help to have both in one place?

Body and mind affect each other. Thyroid problems, blood sugar, poor sleep and some medicines can change your mood, and stress or depression can make blood pressure, diabetes and weight harder to manage. When one provider knows your full history and medication list, it is easier to spot these links and avoid medicines that clash.

Is this a psychiatrist's office?

No. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (MD or DO). Your care here is led by a nurse practitioner who can evaluate symptoms, diagnose, prescribe medication when it is appropriate and follow up over time. If you need a psychiatrist or another specialist, we will tell you and help with the referral.

Do I need a referral?

You can request an appointment yourself. Some insurance plans require a referral for certain care, so check with your plan or call us and we will help you find out.

What if I need help right now?

If you are thinking about harming yourself or are in danger, call or text 988, or call 911. For a medical emergency, call 911. Our office is not an emergency service.
