Stress and burnout
Feeling stretched beyond your capacity for weeks or months.
Stress is a normal response to demand, but sustained stress affects sleep, mood, blood pressure and immunity. Burnout is exhaustion plus a sense of ineffectiveness, often work-related.
- Exhaustion that rest does not fix
- Cynicism or detachment from work or caregiving
- Headaches, stomach upset or muscle tension
- Shorter temper than usual
- Trouble switching off
We look at what is loading you, what supports exist, and whether depression, anxiety, thyroid problems or anemia are contributing. Support may include practical boundary planning, counselling, and treatment for any physical findings.
- Protect one genuine break in each day
- Write down what is yours to carry and what is not
- Movement, hydration and regular meals
- Ask for one specific piece of help this week
- Reduce alcohol used to unwind
